Minutes- special town meeting- 2008 tax levy

The public hearing on the proposed 2008 Town of Sterling Budget was called to order by Marvin Christianson at 7 p.m. at the town hall in West Prairie. Total electors present -16.

The clerk reviewed the budget and general expenses of the town, highlighting the areas of the largest increases. Question was asked about contracting fuel. After general discussion, the special meeting of the electors was called to order.

Motion by Verlin Glick to set the 2008 town tax levy at $145,600.00. 2^nd by Barb Adam, Vote by a show of hands- 16 in favor, 0 against. Motion approved. 16-0

Motion to adjourn by Maynard Cox/Al Adam. Motion approved.

Minutes- regular board meeting November 20, 2008

1. The regular monthly meeting of the Sterling Town Board was called to order following the budget hearing and special meeting at the town hall in West Prairie.

2. Roll call- all present. Motion to approve meeting agenda by Glick/Adam, motion approved, 3-0

3. Motion to approve minutes from the October meeting by Adam/Glick, Motion approved 3-0.

4. Monthly bills were reviewed and Treasurers report was reviewed with checking and savings account balances. Motion to approve both by Adam/Glick. Motion approved. 3-0

5. Public Comment- Chairman answered ? on status of land survey.

6. a Motion by Christianson/Glick to approve the 2009 town budget. Motion approved, 3-0

Motion by Christianson/Glick to adjourn. Motion approved. 3-0
